The Role
Air Force and Surveillance and Response Group (SRG) has an exciting opportunity for a Government Special Access Program Security Officer (GSSO). The successful candidate will be part of Number 114 Mobile Control and Reporting Unit (114MCRU) and will work closely with the Headquarters (HQ) SRG Security team to ensure all physical security requirements, and personnel clearance management requirements, are appropriate. This will include obtaining and maintaining certification and accreditation of your facility, developing local security doctrine, and engaging with a wide range of both internal and external stakeholders.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Create and maintain a secure environment to facilitate the development and execution of a SAP within the organisation
- Responsible for all SAP security administration management and operations within their assigned SAP Facility
- Adhere to applicable laws as well as national, Defence, and security policies and requirements
- Conduct of enquiries or investigations
- Conduct of training including Security Education and Training Awareness sessions, for all SAP-accessed personnel
- Conduct annual SAP Compliance self-inspections to include required documentation
About our Team
The ideal candidate will initially be working alongside a Headquarters SRG GSSO at an SRG facility located at RAAF Base Darwin which is part of a larger HQSRG team located at RAAF Base Williamtown in NSW. They are a small tightly knit group of subject matter experts made up of both uniformed and civilian APS members. This team will work with you to support training and getting you up to speed and will be available for continued support. Once your initial training period has been completed, you will join 114MCRU to manage our new unit facility and relevant personnel records, and to provide security advice to the Commanding Officer. 114MCRU is a small unit which provides deployable tactical air command and control capability to the Joint Force using the latest sensors and equipment. It is made up of highly motivated Air Battle Managers, Air Surveillance Operators, Communications and Network Technician and critical enablers. You would report directly to the Unit's Executive Officer.
