UGL Defence has recently been awarded the contract to manage the Defence fuel related Asset Management, Operations and Maintenance. We are recruiting Electricians with Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas (EEHA) experience to join our Operations & Maintenance team in what is an exciting opportunity to work in the Australia Defence environment, supporting the national security requirements of the Nation.
This is an exceptional long-term, operations and maintenance contract, within the defence sector. Work with a Tier 1 services provider, alongside an established crew of experienced technicians.
The Role
Reporting to a Maintenance Supervisor, you will be based at RAAF Darwin, supporting surrounding locations in the NT region, with occasional travel. You will be a part of a core crew of UGL technicians.
These duties will include, but not limited to;
- Perform scheduled electrical maintenance and service of fuel installation assets and equipment
- Diagnostics and repair in a breakdown environment of fuel related assets and equipment
- Electrical Project work as required on the fuel installation and related assets and equipment
- Support subcontracted work packages as required
- Support various sites in the region, with the occasional requirement to travel throughout NT
The Rates:
New Rates as of 1st July 2024 - Maintenance Trades (Electrical)

- Level 1 - $45.74 p/h + Super - Plus Licence Allowance ($50.40 Weekly) & Tool Allowance ($36.43 Weekly)
- Level 2 - $49.34 p/h + Super - Plus Licence Allowance ($50.40 Weekly) & Tool Allowance ($36.43 Weekly)
- Level 3 (Dual Trade) - $52.95 p/h + Super - Plus Licence Allowance ($50.40 Weekly) & Tool Allowance ($36.43 Weekly)
What you Need
You will be a strong team player, a self-starter and dedicated employee that will draw on your experience and diverse skills to deliver high quality outcomes for UGL and our customer.
We expect the successful applicants to have the following;
- A-grade electrical licence with relevant post trade experience
- Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas (EEHA) trained required
- Proven experience working in fixed plant maintenance, ideally fuel services or Oil & Gas
- Confined space and working at heights tickets will be highly regarded
- Safety is at the forefront of everything you do!
- Currently hold, or ability to obtain appropriate Defence Security Clearance
