- 6 weeks annual leave, as well as personal/ carer's leave up to 10 days per year
- Salary Packaging: Up to $15,900 p.a.

About the Role...
The Eye Health Assistant provides support the Registered Nurse - Eye Health and the Eye Health Program in general. You will be part of a high performing multi-disciplinary team, respecting Aboriginal values, beliefs, customs, language, and traditional practices.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Assist the Eye Heath Coordinator and other administrative staff in updating client contact records on patient postal/home location information.
- Support the Eye Health Coordinator in managing and arranging travel for appointments with Eye Specialist and Optometrists
- Work closely with all Aboriginal Liaison Officer to improve engagement and access by Aboriginal clients to health services and the attendance for necessary recalls
- Assist clients with spectacle orders
- Support the pickup and notification of patient appointments for Eye Health Clinics.
- Write appointment letters to Anyinginyi clients and ensure that they are delivered on time
- Willingness to work as part of the Public Health team, involve in other projects as necessary

About you...
To be successful in this role, you must have knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Societies and Cultures, and an understanding of the diverse circumstances and issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders in Contemporary Australian Society.
Essential Criteria include but is not limited to:
- Demonstrated high level organisational and communication skills and the ability to work to a deadline
- Understanding of and commitment to client confidentiality.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, maintain lines of accountability, set work priorities and meet deadlines
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills as demonstrated in a cross-cultural environment
- Experience with Microsoft applications
- Experience in client data entry and willingness to use Communicare patient record system
