Are you passionate about creating a safer, healthier workplace where people feel supported and empowered? The Northern Land Council (NLC) is seeking a motivated and empathetic Wellbeing Business Partner to join our WH&S team.


About the Role


In this dynamic role, you’ll take the lead in managing the administrative functions of workers compensation claims and supporting staff through the injury and recovery process. You’ll play a key role in delivering and continuously improving Wellbeing, Health & Safety @Work, through proactively identifying physical and psychosocial risks and implementing strategies to foster a positive and safe workplace culture.


You will work closely with Comcare, medical professionals, and internal supervisors to facilitate safe and supported return-to-work processes, while providing expert guidance across the NLC to ensure legal compliance and best-practice approaches to incident, wellbeing and injury management. Your ability to build trust, influence, and drive practical outcomes will make a tangible difference to the wellbeing of our staff.


What You Will Bring:


You will bring strong knowledge of workers compensation and WH&S legislation, along with the communication skills and empathy needed to support injured workers with respect and professionalism. Your experience in wellbeing or injury management roles will be matched by your ability to think critically, manage multiple priorities, and maintain positive working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.


In addition to this, you will have: -



  • Certificate IV WH&S and at least four (4) years practical experience working as a WH&S professional and participating in implementing WH&S management systems.

  • Demonstrate sound knowledge and experience with managing complex workers compensation claims within a medium- large organisation.

  • Solid understanding of psychosocial hazards and risks.

  • A current NT drivers’ licence.

  • Demonstrated understanding of, and interest in, the lived experiences of Aboriginal people in the NLC region.

We offer:



  • A base salary of $102,669 per annum plus 15% superannuation and salary sacrificing up to $15,900 + meal entertainment and holiday accommodation benefits up to $2,650 per year.

  • Other benefits under our Enterprise Agreement include:

    • District allowance of up to $4,797 per annum for individuals with dependents and $2,630 without dependents.

    • 5 weeks annual leave, leaving loading, 18 days personal leave;

    • Paid Christmas close down;

    • Upon completion of 12 months of service an Annual airfare with a net (in hand) value of $3,177
