Primary Objective
The Digital Marketing Coordinator will operate within the Marketing Team and is responsible for creating written and visual content, and digital assets in support of DEC’s overall marketing strategies to build and engage new audiences, drive visitation, and increase brand awareness. Success in this role is defined by the ability to maintain - while also adding to - the creative vision and direction of DEC’s brand within each project contribution.
The Digital Marketing Coordinator reports to the Marketing Manager and works closely with the Marketing Coordinator and Marketing and Graphic Design Coordinator, as well as Hirers/Promoters/Artists/Agents

Darwin Entertainment Centre (Not for Profit Company Limited by Guarantee) is in Darwin, Northern Territory. Known as the premier performing arts centre within the Northern Territory, performances range from local school and small productions to international touring performances.

Key Accountabilities
Create Innovative and Engaging Content
- Develop and deliver content with marketing goals in mind (awareness, engagement, conversion).
- Create strong, consistent and engaging digital content across all platforms and channels.
- Brainstorm social media content to be part of a content publishing strategy and help determine best method of execution – still photography, video, animation etc
- Manage the social media content schedule
- Produce organic content and paid media assets, directly uploading and building digital ads in applicable platforms
- Monitor and track engagement (e.g. comments and shares)
- Update website as needed
- Work with Marketing Manager and team on digital projects as needed (eg website redevelopment)
- Reflect and enhance DEC’s brand and voice in all deliverables across all channels.
- Work with external photographers and videographers
- Bring fresh, executable ideas and approaches to design, digital content and other marketing applications each day.
Coordinate and Execute Plans
- Collaborate and coordinate activities within the team to ensure activities drive sales and marketing results.
- Consistently deliver multiple design, visual and written content projects simultaneously
- Demonstrate a consistent high level of initiative with a keen eye on timelines.
Essential Criteria
- More than two years of consistent success in digital marketing and marketing content creation
- Experience with digital tools, including, but not limited to: Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premier Pro, InDesign, Illustrator), HTML, Content Management Systems (e.g. WordPress)
- Experience developing successful, engaging content across all social media platforms – uploading and building ads in those systems.
- Base-level knowledge of Google Adwords, Google Tag Manager, and Google Analytics.
- Familiarity with SEO
- High attention to detail.
- Proven project management skills demonstrating ability to manage many different projects, deliverables and timelines.
Advantageous Criteria
- Experience working within, and an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the arts, events and entertainment industry
- Digital photography or video hobbyist with adept eye for photos/videos.

Job description: Events Coordinator

Primary Objectives
The Event Coordinator is responsible for delivering exceptional events through ensuring the planning, documentation and services provided are of the highest quality, leading to the best outcomes for the client, artist and guest experience.
The position is responsible for delivering customer-focused, industry best practice, front-of-house services. This includes FOH duty management, bar management, rostering, coordination, and supervision of front of house staff, catering, and artist and audience requirements.
Summary
Darwin Entertainment Centre is a Not-for-Profit Company Limited by Guarantee. Located in Darwin, it is known as the premier performing arts centre within the Northern Territory. Performances range from local school and small productions to international touring entertainment performances.
We also manage the George Brown Darwin Botanical Gardens Amphitheatre on behalf of the City of Darwin. This involves liaising with promoters, stakeholders and facilitating and safely delivering performances at the venue.
NTix is the external ticketing service of the business. Working with organisations primarily located within the Northern Territory we currently provide a turnkey solution, delivering all ticketing and financial services across many differing event types.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Provide a high-level of customer service and response to a wide range of events at Darwin Entertainment Centre.
- Coordinate the pre-event planning in conjunction with clients, internal departments and external agencies.
- Coordinate and ensure smooth delivery of all front of house services.
- Prepare and reconcile cost estimates and event related budgets.
- Supervise and coordinate direct reports.
- Coordinate staff deployments and rosters.
- Oversee department expenditure levels for consumables and casual wages.
- Engage with back of house services to ensure an operational robust approach to event delivery.
- Develop and implement customer service and food and beverage initiatives.
- Act as the emergency building warden during non-event times and as Chief Warden during events as required, taking responsibility for the calm and efficient evacuation in the event of an emergency.
- Maintain and update the Momentus Venue Management Platform with all current event information.
- Ensure the venues are fit for purpose, tidy, and well-presented prior to and during events and efficiently raise any concerns or operating issues with the Head of Operations.
- Ensure compliance with all legislation, approved standards, policies and procedures relating to DEC’s practices and processes including DEC’s Occupational Health and Safety Policy, the Privacy Act (1988) and Emergency Management Plan.
- Contribute to the review and improvement of DEC’s policies, procedures and operating systems to ensure the most up to date and professional service is provided to all clients and patrons.
- Follow HR policies and procedures to recruit and onboard casual Front of House staff.
- With support from the Head of Operations, identify, plan and implement projects that support the improved functioning and productivity of DEC.
Essential Criteria
- Proven experience providing excellent customer service and ability to deal with all facets of the general public including excellent interpersonal and communication and negotiation skills
- Able to prioritise time and work tasks for self and team to effectively manage and resolve challenging situations under pressure using strong initiative.
- Ability to work autonomously and cooperatively as part of a busy team
- High level of literacy and numeracy with a strong attention to detail.
- High level of proficiency with the Office365 suite, including Word, Excel and SharePoint and other appropriate software packages.
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
- Demonstrated understanding of Work Health and Safety practices and a proven ability to apply mitigation and assess risk
- The successful candidate will currently have or have the capacity to obtain a current Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate, Ochre Card, Driver's License and First Aid Certificate
Advantageous Criteria
- Previous experience as a Chief Warden in a similar environment.
- Accurate cash handling, reconciliation and EFTPOS/credit card transaction processing
